Summer Plans
We planted something like 15 tomato plants last year and ended up with them coming out of our ears. This year we decided to dial it back a bit and purchased fewer plants, only to discover about twenty volunteer tomatoes from last year growing in one of the old spots.
We spent last Friday replanting them all behind the house, so this year we’re going to have something like 30 plants. I suspect we won’t be getting scurvy for a while.
Instead of going on an Alaskan cruise this week, we decided to stay home. I managed to secure myself a non-paying job counting white blood cells in mouse cervices, so that should occupy most of the last free summer I’ll ever enjoy in my life. It’s definitely stamp collecting, but what else can biological scientists do?

Audio Illusions
We’ve all seen visual illusions before, but some of these audio illusions were new to me. Number 5 especially is certainly worth your time, if you have a good pair of stereo headphones.
There are a lot of links at Professor Diana Deutsch’s website, if you want to learn more about the other ones.
